The FireWire DVD Writer is an external DVD burner suitable for writing to a variety of CD and DVD disks. The FireWire DVD Burner is based on one of the best DVD Burners available, the LG GSA-H12N DVD Writer.
Versatility is the key
The Multi-format DVD supports all common DVD disk formats, including DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW, DVD-DL and one of the few burners to support DVD-RAM. This simplifies the choice of DVD Burner, as the Multiformat FireWire DVD Writer is able to write to any type of DVD disk.

Apart from burning DVD’s, the external dual layer DVD Writer also burns CD-R/W's, plays DVD's and plays CD's, so it is a great replacement for a CD-R/W drive. And of course, being external, means that you can share it with friends, or between computers.
Everything is supplied
The Storage Depot DVD Writer is supplied complete, with a USB cable, 6 pin FireWire cable and an external mains power supply. Software for burning DVD’s and CD’s for PC’s is also supplied. The only extra you need to supply is the media (DVD disks, CDRW media etc.).

You must have a FireWire port on your computer if you are using this product. Please order the USB or the Combo Model DVD Writer if you don't have a FireWire, iLink or IEEE1394 port.
Burning DVD’s takes up a lot of processing power. You computer should run Windows 98SE, Windows Me, Windows 2000 or Windows XP. The processor must be at least 500Mhz and have 128MB of RAM.
Mac Users: our unit does support Mac computers, running 10.x. However, you need to supply Toast burning software, as our unit is supplied with burning software for Windows based computers only. You can also use some free software from www.patchburn.de.
Because of the high data throughput required when writing or playing DVD's, computers with a USB1 interface will be too slow to burn DVD's. You must have a USB2.0 port in order to burn DVD’s. You can however use this unit on a USB1.1 equipped computer to burn CD’s.
