LAN Disk for IDE Drives
The LAN Disk enclosure is a versatile 3.5” hard drive enclosure with many uses. Firstly, you need to install a hard drive inside the Lan disk. This can be an old IDE hard drive that you may have lying around, or your could purchase one for this specific purpose.
Once you have installed the hard drive, which is very easy to do, you can set the Lan Disk up. You need to format the disk to FAT32 (the Lan Disk can do this for you). You can then connect it via Ethernet to your access point or router.
Share your data
Once connected you can save and share any information that is on the disk. Because the LAN disk is a network device, you can set up users, create passwords and so protect private data, yet allow it to be accessed from the network.
There is built in FTP functionality in the unit as well, so if you or your customers need to access files that are on the unit, you can.
The LAN disk supports up to IDE 500GB hard drives. There is also a USB2.0 port on the disk, so you can use the LAN disk simple like you would a directly connected USB hard drive.
The LAN disk is made from a thick aluminium, making the case very strong. Indicator lights are on the front, showing activity and power.
FTP/SMB server; DHCP server/client; static IP are all supported.
