The hard drive below is a IDE 2.5" hard drive. Compare your hard drive to this one, paying attention to the pins. If your hard drive has pins, then it is an ATA or IDE hard drive. It will not fit into this hard drive enclosure. The important thing here is not the make of the hard disk drive, but the connection. Please check both pictures of the hard drive, and see which one you have. Then buy the relevant external enclosure.
Assembly of the hard drive enclosure is very easy. Simply unscrew the fixing screws, connect the hard drive, and then re-assemble the caddy. And that's about all there is to it. Once you are done, you have an external USB hard drive.
