The ICY Pro enclosure is a stylish external IDE hard drive enclosure with both a ‘Combo’ USB2.0 and FireWire interface. The unit is ideal for building your own external hard drive storage device. The great styling, and robust design make it a feature on your desk. Installation is very easy and you can have the unit up and running in a matter of minutes.

The ICY Pro drive is very versatile in terms of operation, and which hard drive it accepts. The unit will work on both Windows based computers, Apple Macs, and Linux. It accepts any PATA (IDE) hard drive, of any capacity. There is not size limit. We have used them successfully with 750GB hard drives.
No brainer
Assembly is very easy, and all the necessary items are supplied, including cables and
screws. No technical experience is required for assembly.
The Pro enclosure uses a fast USB2.0/FireWire bridge for maximum data transfer, no matter what you are doing. Combined with your choice of fast hard disk drive, it is can be suitable for most applications like audio or digital video editing, watching movies, backup etc.
What's the biggest capacity hard drive I can put inside the Pro Enclosure?
There is no limit to the disk capacity.
What's the difference between the Pro Enclosure and the Standard enclosures?
Apart from the different styling, the Pro enclosure uses a faster FireWire chip; is arguably more stylish; has a more resilient finish (so it will wear better) and has an on/off switch.
Worldwide Operation
The external power supply is ‘auto-switching’ which means it can be used worldwide. Dimensions: 220mm x 115mm x 35mm Everything required is included in the package (except of course the hard drive), like a 6-6 pin FireWire cable, USB cable, power supply, fitting screws etc.
