Dual Bay RAID Case
The dual bay HD-3211-SRD is a versatile, stylish external hard drive case. It features two removable hard bays bays capable of accepting SATA disk drives, and it connects to the computer via USB2.0 or eSATA.
The dual bay case can use the two hard drives in various ways.

As RAID0, known as striping, whereby data is written to both disks at the same time. This is incredibly fast, and you can use the combined capacity of both disks.

RAID1 – this is known as mirroring, where one disk is duplicates the contents on the 2nd disk. This is very secure and a great way of protecting your data

RAID1 + JBOD – this is where you use some of the disk drives capacity, say 30% and mirror it with the 2nd disk. The remaining capacity can be used as two separate hard drives.
The dual bay hard drive case is very well designed, and has excellent cooling, and is well made, using aluminium and plastic to give a compact, stylish enclosure.
Uses for the HD-3211-SRD are many. As a backup system, it is excellent. Not only is the data transfer very fast, but the data can be duplicated.
For video editing, if you use RAID0 with the eSATA connection, data transfer rates are quite phenomenal. Striping the data ensures that there are no bottlenecks, as the data is written to both disks at once.
If you need large capacity data storage, this is a perfect unit. You can install, for example, 2 x 1TB hard drives, giving you a total of nearly 2TB usable space. If you run out of space, you can simply insert another hard drive.
