80GB Desktop USB2.0 Hard Drive
If your computer at home is running out of disk space, Storage Depot recommends the 80 gigabyte USB2.0 Desktop hard drive to help save (and provide a backup for) those vital documents. It’s extremely useful for larger files taking up that extra bit of room, like downloaded music or movies stored on your PC.
Rapid Data Transfer
The Desktop disk drive, which operates at an incredible speed of 7200rpm, is connected to your computer using the Universal Serial Bus (USB) connection, the integrated system used on many high-capacity storage units. The USB Desktop hard drive is housed in a handsome enclosure made from aluminium for hard-wearing durability. It has a side stand to minimise desk space usage, and an ‘auto-switching’ power supply, which means that the desktop drive will work anywhere in the world. The external hard drive also includes a eSATA port, for connecting to computers at very high speed. Most computers don't have an eSATA port, and so you can connect your external hard drive to your computer via USB, and eSATA if you have it. Connecting that desktop hard drive to your computer via the eSATA port also means that you can boot off the external disk drive. So, you could for example buy a copy of Acronis True Image backup software, then mirror your computers hard drive onto the 80GB Desktop hard drive. Then, if you have a disk failure on your computer, you simply connect the external hard drive via the eSATA cable to your computer and restore the image or even run the computer, from the external hard disk. Easy!
Easy Installation USB Drive
The USB2.0 80GB Desktop hard disk is very easy to install and use. Simply plug it in, switch it on, connect the USB lead to your computer, and you can use the disk similarly to the internal disk of your PC to save files, backup data, store music, digital pictures, home movies and DVD’s. No software is required for the installation, so even the beginner computer users can install the external drive.
This particular model of external desktop hard drive has a SATA hard drive inside. Sata hard drives are the latest version of disk drive available and offer very quick data transfer from the hard drive to whatever the hard drive is connected to.
