250GB Stardom iTank USB2.0 / SATA
The Stardom iTank is an external USB2.0 & SATA unit housing a 250GB hard disk in a removable bay. The removable bay concept provides alternative applications for using and storing data involving multiple hard drives related to one or separate projects. The use of additional bays to house hard drives can be more economical than hard drive enclosures and also easier to use. Additionally, the bays can be interchanged with other products in the Stardom range.
What’s so good about a removable bay?
If your work requires large amounts of disk space, a caddy based storage system, like the iTank, may be an ideal solution. Hard drive disks can be housed in separate caddies rather than the usual, more expensive, hard drive enclosures with their USB2.0 ports, allowing easy plug in and out of the system.
What a Beauty!
Superbly styled in a solid aluminium case, the tiny size of iTank belies the fact that it is equipped with a removable caddy. It is the neatest way we know of for storing in effect, a limitless amount of data. The iTank is suitable for anyone who needs masses of external data storage. You can use it for data backup, video storage, photo and music storage and so on.
Handy to use
The handy thing about a caddy is that it is very easy and convenient to carry masses of data around, say between home and office, between one office and the next. If, for instance, you need to transfer and copy 100GB of video data across the network, it is likely that the network will choke!
Additional Advantages
The iTank is part of a family of products. The caddy is interchangeable with the SR3610 two bay unit, and also the SR6600 five bay unit, allowing infinitely more versatility. Although this model is a 250GB model, the iTank can accommodate any capacity hard drive.
Choose your connection
The iTank data storage system has both a USB2.0 port and an eSATA port. Computers with USB ports are supported, and if you want faster performance, a SATA interface card may be purchased, to add a SATA port to your computer. You can then connect the iTank via the SATA connection to your computer. Performance as an external SATA drive is much faster than via USB2.0.
