The new 120GB Seagate FreeAgent Go is a new version of an external hard drive. Apart from just being able to save and store your data on the FreeAgent Go as you would a normal disk drive, you can take your data and your programs with you.
Software on the go
FreeAgent lets you carry software programs (free, some pre-installed, and some paid to use) on the mobile hard drive, with the ability to run programs from the hard drive. You don't need to install any files or programs on the host computer.
The advantage of this is simple. You practically have your computer in your pocket. All you need to do to use your disk is plug it into a computer. Your 'desktop' appears, and you can work as normal. When you remove the mobile hard drive, all traces of your visit are removed.
Leave your laptop behind
This type of disk drive implementation simplifies travelling. Not only is it much safer to travel with just a small disk in your pocket, but its also far less trouble. No laptop bag to carry around anymore! Just make sure that where you are going has a spare computer, but nowadays, that should not be a concern in most environments.
Apart from the data mobility, FreeAgent Go lets you synchronize your data on your local PC. You can also password protect your sensitive files. And apart from all that, the FreeAgent Go is just an external, bus powered portable hard drive, easy to use and install.
