Mobile 80GB CryptDrive
Storage Depot are pleased to introduce the new 80GB mobile CryptDrive. The hard drive is securely encrypted with next to impossible to crack 128 bit AES encryption.
What is it?
This CryptDrive houses a 80GB 2.5" SATA hard drive. Once the disk drive is installed, the drive is locked (encrypted) until the RFID tag is matched up. The hard drive case has a RFID sensor. You keep an RFID tag on your keyring, in your pocket etc. Pair the RFID tag to the hard drive sensor, and access to the hard drive is allowed. You can copy, delete, move and view files just like you would an ordinary external hard drive. Pairing and locking takes just a second. If the disk drive or computer is unplugged or switched off, the hard drive is locked automatically.
The RFID hard drive enclosure is a very simple and easy way to protect private or corporate data. It provides a suberb level of security, it is easy to use and the concept and usage is very simple.

What type of encryption does the hard drive use?
Hardware encryption with radio frequency inductive drive. 128 Bit AES Encryption.
What if you lose a RFID tag? Can use use one tag with another enclosure?
There are 2 RFID remote keys enclosed in the packaging, and you need to activate the two keys via the encryption procedure initially. If you lose one, you can still use the other to decrypt the drive case, as long as you have set-up the encryption. If both keys are lost, you will need to contact us to resolve the issue. Tags from other enclosures can't be used.
If you remove the hard drive from the case, it the encryption still there?
If you remove the hard drive from the case, the encryption still there. If you put the same hard drive into another common Enclosure, the information can't be read.
There is a limit to the number of hard drive which may be inserted into the case. Only 6 hard drives can be used in the case, after which no other hard drives will work with the unit.
