ICYDOCK USB/FireWire 250GB
The IcyDock 250GB Combo model is an external hard drive enclosure which houses the hard drive in a removable bay. A removable bay allows hard disks, housed in a caddy, to be inserted into the IcyDock unit. Swapping drives saves files
The IcyDock Swappable external hard drive unit is supplied with a 250GB hard drive plus a caddy. You can add more hard drives, if you run out of disk space on the supplied 250GB hard drive. It also limits the number of hard drive enclosures which you need to buy. Multiple hard drives, each in their own caddy, can be quickly inserted and removed from the drive case.
Flexible usage
Possibilities for the IcyDock data storage drive are endless and provide a flexible method of portable data storage and backup. For example, each project can be on a new disk, or a daily backup can be saved on one disk and the following day’s backup on another disk. Having only one USB or Fire Wire disk drive connected to your computer, with access to multiple disks, is far neater than using several individual USB or Fire Wire hard drives, each with their own power supply.
Various capacities, all drives supported
The IcyDock 559 range is supplied in three capacities of external hard drives. This version comes with a 250GB hard drive. We also have 500GB and 750GB USB2.0 / Fire Wire hard drive versions available.
Additional caddies, supporting SATA hard drives can be ordered from us. The caddies will accommodate hard drives from Seagate, Hitachi, Western Digital, Maxtor, Excelstor and others.
Take it anywhere
To connect to the external bay unit, the computer needs to have a USB or FireWire port. Older computers with USB1.1 ports are supported. A universal power supply is included, meaning the IcyDock drive will work worldwide.
