Building An External Device
Building your own external device is a great way to re-use a spare hard disk. Even if you don't have a spare hard drive, assembling the separate components saves you money and also gives you more control over what goes inside your external hard drive.
Hard Drive Enclosure Combinations
Our enclosure range comprises many different combinations: simple units with USB2.0, FireWire or eSATA connections; units accepting ATA or SATA hard drives; removable bay drives; low cost rack units and two bay RAID drives. The range is huge and the prices are low, allowing you to experiment with a setup you might not have considered if it were supplied with a built-in hard drive.
Generic Hard Drive Cases
If you are unsure about which enclosure will go best with your hard drive, please contact us before you purchase. Most of the enclosures we offer are fairly generic and will accept most hard drives, providing the interface of the hard drive (ATA or SATA) matches the interface of the enclosure.
