This images shows what a SATA hard drive and an IDE hard drive looks like. The one on the top, with two rows of 20 pins, is a IDE or ATA hard drive. There are many versions of ATA, for example, Ultra ATA, ATA 133 etc. The easiest thing to do is just to compare your disk drive with the picture. If yours looks like the top one, its an IDE hard drive, and if it looks like the bottom hard drive, then its a SATA hard drive. To work with this caddy, you need your hard drive to look like the top hard drive. The IDE or ATA hard drive caddy can accept any capacity 3.5" hard drive. Additional caddies are not available.
