LAN Disk 250GB
The 250GB Lan Disk from Storage Depot is a robust, attractive external Network attached hard drive. A NAS device on your network greatly simplifies things, because you can store common files (pictures, music, documents) in a central location. This reduces duplication in that all the users on the network can access the same files. They don’t each have to have the files on their own computer.
Another use for the Lan Disk is using the device as a backup location. Simply point your backup software to the Lan Disk, and all your data will be saved.
You can set up user names and passwords to keep data private, and the Lan disk also has FTP (File Transfer Protocol), which enables access to the Lan disk from the internet. This option can be disabled if it is not required.
Another handy feature of the Lan Disk is that you can connect it to a computer via the USB port. This may be useful if you need to access data on the Lan disk, but don’t have a network. If you don’t currently have a network, but want to have a NAS device in the future, you can invest in the Lan disk, use it as a USB drive, and then later connect it when you have a network.
