Serial ATA CardBus Card (CBSA20)
The two port SATA CardBus card is used on Windows based Laptop computers to add SATA ports to the computer. The CardBus card slots into the PCMCIA port of the laptop or notebook, and with the supplied drivers, provides two SATA ports, to connect to a SATA peripheral. Typically this would be a hard disk. You can therefore access a hard disk externally, giving nothing away in terms of data transfer.
SATA products offer a much higher data transfer rate than USB2.0 or Firewire, so are becoming more popular.
Before purchasing this upgrade card, please check that your computer has a PCMCIA or CardBus card. New laptops are supplied with an 'Express' card slot, which is a different size to the CardBus/PCMCIA slot.
