Digital Photo Storage
With the boom in the digital camera industry, more and more people need an efficient way of keeping all their precious snaps stored safely. We at storage Depot recognise the importance of informing our customers about everything that should be considered when looking for a storage device to be used for this sole purpose.
If you are on holiday or assignment, you need to ensure that you have sufficient digital storage onto which you can save your photos. One option may be to buy more memory cards, or another less expensive and more practical option is to buy a photo storage device.
Battery Operated Devices
Photo Storage products are battery operated devices that have multi-slot card readers. They can store the photos from most types of memory cards available and the photos are stored on a hard drive, CD or DVD. By far the most common type of photo storage unit is one with a hard drive. These are small, lightweight and can store a huge number of photos.
Hard Drive Photo Units
CD based units are being phased out and while readily available, DVD units are fairly expensive. Hard drive photo storage units can be incredibly simple, requiring only one button to copy the entire contents of a memory card. More elaborate devices combine the photo storage with an LCD screen so that the photos can be viewed, or a unit that plays MP3's, videos, etc.
Our suggestion is to stick to a device that stores photographs only. While it may be nice to boast about additional functionality, it will only add to the cost and complexity.
